Excalibur Drilling Ltd. operates four identical ultra-heavy tele-double drilling rigs in Western Canada with vertical depth capability of 5,000m (223,400 daN hookload). Over 25 years in business, with over 4,000 wells drilled, Excalibur Drilling’s diligent and experienced team delivers overall lower well costs to clients through our resolute focus on operations utilizing our fit-for-purpose performance equipment.

Performance Fit- For-Purpose Equipment
POWERFUL HOOKLOAD
Our new ultra-heavy tele-doubles have the largest hookloads in the tele-double market. At 223,400 daN, our hookload provides maximum capacity for long lateral lengths.
VERSATILE & COMPACT FOOTPRINT
Our new ultra-heavy tele-doubles are fabricated with a versatile, compact foot print designed for quick rig up times. Our tele-doubles can be configured to adjust to constrained leases and existing infrastructure.
INTEGRATED TOP DRIVE (TESCO 250 HXI)
Our top drives are engineered into the mast with rails and fully integrated (No Torque Tubes),ensuring efficient and safe rig up, with maximum torque translation downhole (maximum torque 24,000 ft.lbs, maximum RPM 200).
CIRCULATION SYSTEM & PUMP DESIGN
Our newest ultra-heavy tele-double is configured with a 7,500 psi circulating system and coupled with twin 1,600 hp pumps. The other three ultra-heavy tele-doubles are also configured with 7,500psi rated circulating system and couple with one 1,600hp and one 1,300hp pump setup that can meet volume and pressure expectations.
SIGNIFICANT RACKING CAPACITY
Our new ultra-heavy tele-doubles have significant racking capacity nearing 6,000m of 4-1/2” CDS40 drill pipe (5-1/4” Tool Joint), reducing pipe handling time.
HIGH TORQUE
Our new ultra-heavy tele-doubles come with 4 ½” CDS40 High Torque Drill Pipe, allowing for better hydraulics and more torque if desired. Rig 12 is being equipped with ST-80 Iron Roughneck.
